Terrace house on corner. Mid 1720s by Edward Shepherd. Brown brick slate roof.
Altered early C19 and C20. Four storeys and basement; attic storey and mansard with
dormers are additions. Five windows. Ground floor rusticated stone facing C19
alteration with arched windows. Stone rusticated quoins original as is bracketed stone
cornice over second floor and plat band and sill band to first floor. Revealed glazing
bar sash windows with flat gauged arches. Early C19 balustraded panels inserted below
sills on first floor. Entrance reset in Harley Street return, semi-circular arched
pilastered Venetian composition with side lights. Part of Duke of Chandos post 1723
development of north side of square. This corner house with Harley Street balanced its
twin (demolished late C19) on corner of Chandos Street.
