Early C19. Stock brick. 2 storeys. Hipped tile roof. 3 windows, flat
arches, double-hung sashes, glazing bars. Stucco entrance porch, moulded
arch and pilasters, cornice. Wreath and ribbon decoration in stucco either
side of entrance porch. 3 steps to modern front door. Right hand side
had flanking wall with piers and parabolic arch with stucco string course.
Right hand pier has stone and stucco pineapple on top. Originally built
for the steward of Syon Hill Estate during the ownership of the Duke of
Marlborough. Formerly known as Pine House. Once decorated with ornamental
pineapples of which only the one remains, since under the tenancy of Mr
John Wilmot pineapples were grown for the London Market on a site now occupied
by the school and playgrounds.
