washed stucco on stone and possibly some brick, hipped slate roof with
one ridge chimney and 2 other chimneys. Roughly F-shaped plan, a range
of older farm buildings forming a receding wing at the left end. Two
storeys. Long north-facing front, slightly angled at junction of
building, making a range of 5 windows; entrance in 4th bay, flanked by
single-light windows with glazing bars, has open-pedimented doorcase of
Tuscan columns with entablatures, and semi-circular fanlight with
intersecting glazing bars; later rectangular bay window left of door;
otherwise, boxed sash windows with glazing bars on both floors. Three
similar windows at 1st floor of west end, which was formerly the entrance
front and has 2 very tall boxed sash windows with glazing bars flanking
a French window opening onto a rectangular stone balustraded terrace.
Rear has gabled extension with modern semi-circular ground floor bay, and
inter alia 3 sashed windows. Many of the sashed windows contain crown
glass. Interior: open well staircase of early C19 type, with scrolled
brackets, stick balusters, and handrail ending in a scroll.
