Farmhouse, probably late C17, altered in C18, 1st 2 bays now dwelling house,
4th bay now used for storage. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, roof of
slate and corrugated sheet, with gable copings and kneelers, chimney at left
gable and brick chimney at junction of roofs to right. T-plan: 4 bays with
extension to rear of 3rd bay. All 2 storeys, continuous hollow-moulded
dripcourse the full length; Whitewall Farm Cottage almost symmetrical; centre
doorway (now with glazed door), a 2-light chamfered mullion window above, and
2 recessed chamfered mullion windows each floor: 3 lights to left, 4 to right.
Fourth bay has C17 chamfered doorway with large lintel (recently blocked) and
one double-chamfered 4-light window each floor. Rear: inter alia, a 4-light
chamfered flush mullion window on each floor of 1st bay, similar 3-light
window at 1st floor of extension; 4th bay altered to make large entry for
storage. Interior: altered.
