2-5-1968 Lancaster Cottage

GV II

Barn, probably originally house, late C17th, altered. Sandstone rubble
with tile roof. 2 storeys. South-west wall has 3 doorways with plain
reveals except for the right-hand one which has a chamfered surround. To
the left of the right-hand door is a window with plain reveals. To the
right is a blocked rebated and chamfered window with one mullion
remaining. On the 1st floor are 2 pitching holes. At the right the lower
storey is covered by a later lean-to. Within this addition the front wall
of the original building has a stone set in the wall inscribed: 'GEP
1677'.
