Barn. C17;C18 extensions and cart-shed. Timber-framed; weatherboarding clad in corrugated
steel sheets; brick plinth. Roof with half-hipped ends, also clad in corrugated steel sheets.
PLAN: 5-bay barn with opposing cart entrances to central threshing floor, the south east side
with a circa C18 midstrey. Also in the C18 a further two bays were built on the north east end
and a 3-bay cart-shed was built on the south west end. EXTERIOR: Single storey. South east
side has weatherboarded midstrey to left of centre with plain tile hipped roof. North west side
has cart entrance to right of centre and smaller doorway to left of centre; open-fronted 3-bay
cart-shed on right with lower hipped roof and outshut at rear. INTERIOR: The frame is
largely complete. Posts, studs, mid-rail and short straight tension-braces; jowled wall-posts with
braces to the tie-beams with queen-post trusses, collars, clasped purlins and straight wind-braces;
common-rafter couples intact. North east extension has large wall-studs and straight
tension-braces. Cart-shed has long knee-braces under the wall-plates, straight braces to the
tie-beams, but later roof structure above.
