Early C19. Red brick with hipped slate roof (half hipped at rear). 2 storeys,
2 windows, sashes with glazing bars and jalousies. Entrance via archway to south.
Inside contemporary style panelled door with moulded architrave and fanlight has
been inserted in newly built porch. Long 1½ storey wing at rear stretches down
to river. Red brick tiled roof.

Shipyrd House and Nelson cottage opposite form a group with the listed buildings
on Nelson Place.
