11/98 The Forge and
Leaside Cottage
GV II
House, now two dwellings. Late C17-early C18. Rendered brick with
slate roof. Two storeys, 4 bays, comprising The Forge of 3 bays,
and Leaside Cottage in left end bay and 2 rear bays. Lobby entry
plan, with central panelled door. Paned windows and a small C20
canted bay to left, now the living room. Fourth bay is whitewashed
brick with added porch and canted bay. Tail brick stacks to centre
and left gable.
Interior has light timber framed partition between living room and
inner room, now the fourth bay, and simple chamfered fire beam and
spine beam without stops.
