16.3.70 Wall to north and east of
Church of St Anne

GV II

Wall. C18 and C19. Knapped flint on plinth with red brick quoins, band and
coping. Circa 6-8 feet high, 80 yards long on Western Road with 20 yard
stretch to south along east side of churchyard. Stone in eastern wall
inscribed 'NEAR BY STOOD/THE/PARISH STOCKS'. Late C19 or early C2O lych-gate
of wood with plain tiled hipped roof to the northern end of this eastern
stretch of wall. 30 yards from the eastern end of the northern wall is an
inset boundary stone inscribed 'OLD/BOUNDARY/OF THE/BOROUGH/OF/LEWES'.
