6/72 Bright Memorial approxi-
- mately 2 metres to South
of Nave of Church of
St. John

Chest tomb. Early-to-mid C19, by J.Davies of Clun. Sandstone
ashlar. Cavetto-moulded plinth, sunken side panels with flanking
fluted pilasters, shaped quarter corner balusters, and moulded
cornice. To Ann Bright, daughter of Richard and Jane Bright of
Whitcott Hall (q.v.) who died 11 February, 1855. This is a good
example of a type peculiar to the area (Cf. Clun Churchyard)
which here exhibits a typically well-executed inscription with
flourishes and different scripts.
