Rectory, now house. Early C18: front altered mid C19. Coursed limestone rubble:
roughcast front. Gabled stone slate roof; symmetrical end stacks of stone ashlar
each finished in 3 brick flues. L-plan, with rear right wings. 2 storeys and
attic; symmetrical 3-window range. Central doorway has C20 French windows. Mid
C19 sashes. Moulded wood cornice. Two hipped roof dormers. One-storey range
along rear left wall of chequer brick with gabled stone slate roof and brick end
stack: rear wall is of header bond grey brick with red brick vertical strips,
dressings and gauged brick flat arches over two late C18 six-pane sashes.
2-storey stair-turret to rear has early C18 six-pane sashes with thick glazing
bars and reset early C18 segmental-pedimented doorcase. Two rear wings, parallel
to each other, of similar materials: wing of one storey and attic to left has
6-light leaded casement: wing to right of 2 storeys; 3-window range has 8-pane
sash and four 3-light leaded casements. Interior not inspected but likely to be
of interest. Subsidiary features: tall wall of coursed limestone rubble with
flat brick coping. Encloses front lawn, curving round front to meet straight
wall which runs back to rear of house.
