House. Mid-to late C17 with later alteration. Timber-framed with
painted brick nogging, weatherboarded and cement-rendered in parts;
plain and fishscale tiled roof. T-plan; two or three framed bays aligned
north-south with wing of two framed bays to east. One storey and attic.
Three large probably late C19 brick buttresses to west front and gabled
eaves dormer to south of east wing. Lateral external brick stack to
south-west and brick ridge stack to east wing. Framing: square panels
(four from sole-plate to wall-plate) with long straight tension braces.
West-front: first-floor C19 wooden casement off-centre to right;
central ground-floor C19 two-light wooden casement and probably late
C18 or early C19 two-light horizontal sliding sash to left; boarded
door off-centre to left. Collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts
and v-struts exposed in left-hand gable end; pairs of purlin ends.
Interior of main range not inspected but likely to be of interest.
East wing has chamfered ceiling beam and collar and tie-beam truss
with queen struts in gable end.
