Barn and cartshed. Barn C16 or early C17 with C18 inserted floor:
cartshed C19 re-using older frames. Timber frames on brick sill walls,
dark weatherboarded. High flint and brick rear wall to cartshed is farm
boundary wall. Steep old red tile roofs. 4 bays barn facing N has stable
doors and boarded doors into upper part. Jowled posts and inclined
queen-posts supporting a single large purlin in each slope with
wind-braces. Inserted floor to make stables with hay loft over. 5 bays
open-fronted tall cartshed facing W with rear aisle. 2 bays at N are
older and have collar-and-queen-strut trusses to clasped purlin roof. 2
S bays have king strut trusses. Straight braces to open arcaded front.
