Parish Church, C15, Flint with brick and stone dressings. Slate roof. West
tower, north porch, nave, vestry and chancel. Tower has base course, diagonal
buttresses, stair turret. 2 light Perpendicular west window, single light
cusped sound holes with hood moulds, 2 light Perpendicular sound holes with
tracery, and embattled pierced parapet with crocketed pinnacles. Early C16
porch, of knapped flint with brick quoins and diagonal buttresses. Moulded
brick arch with ½ columns with octagonal bases and capitals. Cusped brick
niche in gable. 3 bay nave with north door and blocked south door. 2 and
3 light Perpendicular windows with tracery. Fallen stair turret to south
with remains of a brick newel stair to former rood loft. Single bay chancel
with C19 Perpendicular style 3 light east window. 2 light Perpendicular
windows to south. C19 vestry to north. Tower arch, double chamfered with
corbel responds in the form of animal heads, possibly sheep. Stoups to east
of north and south doors. Seats in recesses under windows. C17, opposed
butt purlin roof with straight wind braces and C19 wall posts, corbels and
applied roll mouldings. Chancel arch with double hollow chamfers. Piscina
in south chancel wall. Single framed chancel roof with collars and strutts
and moulded wall plates. Wall painting of St. Christopher over south door.
2 benches with poupee bench ends.
