GV II

House, now flats. Probably late C18. Painted roughcast with
painted ashlar dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan
with a symmetrical 5-bay facade of 2 storeys plus attic above
a basement, with deep band above cellar, bands above ground
and 1st floors, and parapet with coping. The windows are
sashed with narrow painted stone surrounds. The attic is lit
by timber dormers. The doorway has an architrave and a cornice
on console brackets. Chimneys to right and left. Parallel with
the front wall are 2 flights of 6 steps with nosings leading
to a central landing. Their railings have been replaced by a
mid C20 red brick wall.
INTERIOR has doors with raised and fielded panels, and a
dogleg stair with ramped mahogany handrail, open string,
turned newels, and stick balusters of rectangular section.
