Vicarage, now house. c1845. Coursed squared gritstone,
steeply-pitched slate roof, gabled half-dormers, gable copings
with carved kneelers, moulded eaves cornice, tall stone
chimneys with paired octagonal shafts to ridge and gable ends.
2 storeys, 2 x 4 bays. Gothic Revival style. South east front:
pointed arch to doorway which faces the church north door, 2
and 3-light trefoil headed lancet windows, canted bay window
far left with ogee tracery and crenellated cornice. Right
return, to road: paired trefoil headed lancet windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
No longer in use as a vicarage.
Part of Dr Pusey's scheme for St Saviour's Church (qv) to be a
parochial expression of the teachings of the Oxford Movement;
he intended a quasi-monastic college of priests with the
clergy living a common life according to a modified monastic
routine.
