Store shed to rear right of Hillhouse Farmhouse

Store-shed. C18, altered. Timber framed with weatherboard cladding; plinth of red brick in Flemish bond with some blue headers; plain tile roof. One storey; 3 bays, the south bay divided off by partition of vertical planks. Door in north gable and on west side on right. Hatch with board shutter on east side. South gable wall mostly of pink brick with a small section of coursed galleted rubblestone. Interior: timber frame has close-set studs and raking braces; roof has raking queen-post trusses on tie-beams, clasped through purlins, coupled rafters, and raking wind braces. An unusual example of an C18 agricultural store-shed which forms an integral part of the farmyard. Peter Gray and Kay Coutin, Hillhouse Farm, Ewhurst, Surrey, June 1996.
