House. Mid C17. One-and-a-half storeys; 3 cell plan. Timber-framed and
rendered with C20 pargetting, comb-patterned in panels. Thatched roof. An
internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. 3-light casement windows
to ground storey, some with C18 square-leaded panes; 3 gabled dormers with 2-
light casement windows. Mid C20 enclosed gabled porch with a reused 6-
panelled door. Above the door, an old fire insurance sign, with an elephant
and castle, reset from above the original front door. Timbers exposed inside:
framing with primary braces and bisected studs; many of the main timbers are
reused. No tie-beams linking the tops of the intermediate posts. The service
end is still divided into 2.
