Two houses, originally one farmhouse. Early C18. Timber framed with
colourwashed render and pantile roof. Two storeys with attic. Entrance
front: 5 bays near-symmetrically disposed. To the ground and first floors
are sash windows of 3x4 panes with wooden sills and exposed weight boxes.
The front door is in the second bay from right and has a Tuscan porch with
timber piers made of planks and having entasis supported on fluted brick
bases. Panelled pilaster responds. Plain entablature and flat felted roof
of C20 date. Panelled wooden cornice to the eaves. To the roof are three
2-light C20 dormer windows with flat roofs. To the ridge at left is a
chimney stack of 4 flues. Right hand flank: sash windows of 3x4 panes at
left and at right is slightly battered walling set with two sash windows of
3x2 panes. To the first floor at left are two windows of 3x2 panes and at
right of centre one of 3x4 panes and at far right a further window of 3x2
panes. To the attic is a central gable window of 2-lights, to left and
right of which are similar windows of less height. The left hand end has a
C20 brick addition at left and to right of this is one C20 half-glazed
doorway and at right again a sash window of 3x4 panes. To the first floor
are two 2-light casements and to the attic a dormer window of 5x3 panes.
Rear: one projecting wing at left with C20 hipped roof and C20
fenestration and recessed behind this is a C20 addition across the whole of
the rear, projecting slightly at right.
Interior: chamfered ceiling beams to ground floor and encased beams. Close
studding showing to one wall of C18 date. Timbers in the attic originally
arch-braced.
