TQ 05SE EAST HORSLEY C.P. LYNX HILL

5/45 Lynx Cottage

GV II

Cottage. 1861 in Lovelace Style. Flint rubble with brick dressings and quoins; slate
roofs under ridge cresting. Gable end to street. Two storeys with central end stack
dividing front. Offset, with D-shaped plaque containing name of cottage, date plaque
and two armoured shields above, in glazed brick surrounds, on shaft of stack. Further
stacks to end rear, and to left. Quatrefoil pattern band over ground floor. One
casement with original glazing bars in chamfered, cambered head surround, either side
of stack to both floors. Further window in pentice extension set back to left. Glazed
door in weatherboarded pentice porch in re-entrant angle. Single storey flat roofed
extension to right.
Left hand return front: Buttressed stack, one casement to first floor right, ground
floor window to right.
