OCKLEY C.P. STANE STREET TQ 14SW (East Side) 7/221 Red Lion Inn 11/11/66 Including the Stables GV II

Public house. C17, with C18 front and extensions. Timber framed, exposed on left hand return front with colourwashed infill, colourwashed brick cladding to front. Hipped plain tiled roofs. Two storeys with dentilled eaves to centre. Corbelled stack to rear, further C19 stacks on rear extensions. Four 12-pane, cambered- head, glazing-bar sashes across the first floor; two 15-pane sashes to left and two 16-pane sashes to right on the ground floor, all with "Venetian" shutters. Door of six panels to left under flat hood on brackets in reeded surround with angle paterae; similar door to right. Single storey stable range to right with three C19/C20 9-pane sash windows in older openings, partly blocked. Single storey extensions to left end with door under fixed transome. Hipped roof and dentils. Left hand return front:- End stack and front stacks. Diagonal brace on first floor. Entrance to restaurant to left under hipped hood with slate roofed pentice to left projecting. Rear:- Tall hipped-roof range to rear, C19, with ridge cresting. Pentice and C20 extension across rear.
