Late C18 to early C19 front to an earlier timber-framed core. 2 storey. Brick
on projecting plinth. String at 1st floor level. Moulded wood cornice on
pairs of cut brackets. Old tile roof, swept out to cornice. 3 windows, 4
panes wide, centre window 3 panes wide only. Venetian shutters on lst
floor. 2 similar windows, without shutters, on ground floor and 6-panel central
door with arched fanlight of circular and curved pattern. In panelled reveal
and doorcase of fluted Doric pilasters with broken entablature and open pediment.

All the listed buildings, with Nos 1 to 9 (consec) Lowndes Buildings, in Castle
Street (West Side) form a group.
