of Ropery complex to E of No.1 Slip

Dockyard wall. 1763- 71. Limestone rubble. Tall wall with moulded coping extends approx. 500m from E of the entrance to the No.1 Covered Slip to N of the Master Ropemaker's House (qv). HISTORY: enclosed the area E and S of the ropeyard, which was completed in 1771, and has considerable group value with the listed ropeyard buildings.
