Commercial building, with attached verandah. 1883-4, by T
Hodge, altered 1913 and 1961; verandah 1902, by FW Finchett.
Red brick with sandstone dressings (mostly painted), hipped
slate roof; verandah of cast-iron and glass.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 4-window range. Altered shop fronts at
ground floor, sill bands to both upper floors and an impost
band to second floor, prominent bracketed eaves; windows in
groups of 3, those at first floor round-headed and those at
second floor segmental-headed, and all with keyed stone heads
(those at second floor stilted).
Verandah with slender cast-iron columns, shallow unpierced
brackets, plain frieze, and cresting (except the portion in
front of the fourth bay which now lacks brackets and
cresting).
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with Nos 163-177 adjoining to the right, and the
verandah part of the series which characterizes this street.
