Row of 4 houses. Probably later C18, enlarged in later C19;
altered, and No.4 rebuilt and enlarged in late C20. White
painted render and roughcast (probably on brick), slate roof
on 3 levels. Linear single-depth plan at right-angles to road,
with additions to rear.
EXTERIOR: single storey except No.1 at left end which is 2
storeyed: 1:2:2:3 windows.
No.1 has a gabled porch to the left, one C20 3-light casement
on each floor, a gable chimney to the left, and a lean-to
extension to the left gable wall.
No.2 has small gabled porch to the left and C20 casement
windows of 3 and 2 lights; No.3 has a similar porch flanked by
casements of 2 lights to the left and 3 lights to the right;
No.4, which is lower, has a gabled porch off-set left, one
3-light sliding sash to the left and 2 similar windows to the
right. Old brick chimney built against gable wall of No.1, and
2 rebuilt ridge chimneys.
Rear: Nos 2 & 3 have late C19 single-storey gabled service
wings, No.4 has a longer rear wing (linked to No.5) with a
3-light sliding sash and a gable chimney.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms group with No.5 (qv), Nos 6 & 6A (qv) and No.7 (qv),
collectively forming a small square.
