Pair of houses. c1865. Possibly by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
For Sir John Mordaunt. Brick with blue brick banding; gabled
tile roof with fishscale bands and brick cross-axial stack
with cap. 2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 2-window range. Courses of
blue bricks at sill and lintel levels. Ground floor has
windows with sills and cambered heads with courses of blue
bricks over 3-light transomed casements; first floor has
similar windows with cross-casements. Each return has gable
with round window and simply patterned barge-boards; 2-storey
lean-to block has entrance to front with cambered head to
plank door with strap hinges, and lean-to porch attached to
return of main range, on post and with pattern of pierced
circles to gable.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
