Farmhouse, now house. Early to mid C18 with C19 additions.
Brick on blue lias rubble foundations; hipped tile roof with
brick end stacks. Georgian style. Double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: south facade of 2 storeys with basement and attic;
symmetrical 3-window range. End pilaster strips and plat band
over ground floor. Segmental-headed entrance up steps has
6-panel door; similar entrance to basement to right has later
door. Windows have rubbed brick flat arches over 6/6 sashes in
moulded frames; basement left has segmental-headed window with
small-paned glazing; attic has 3 gabled dormers with 2-light
small-paned casements. Projecting end stacks have off-sets,
that to left is larger and flush to rear wing.
Returns have single-storey additions, one with hipped, one
with half-hipped gables; that to left has entrance with
half-glazed door, overlight and side light; that to right
renewed window and entrance.
Rear facing road has 2 hipped wings; entrance to right of
centre has plank door in pegged ovolo-moulded frame; windows
have C20 2-light small-paned casements. Small garage with
dormer.
INTERIOR: basement has segmental-headed fireplace with small
range, segmental-vaulted chamber to right has doorway with
pegged frame. Fireplace with moulded architrave over segmental
fan; some C19 fireplaces, one ex-situ.
Staircase has column-on-vase balusters and moulded handrail;
first floor has some 2-fielded-panel doors and cupboard doors
with H-hinges. Attic has staircase with some splat balusters;
timber-frame partition walls and former valley filled in, with
skylight.
