House. C17. Painted timber-frame with painted render and brick
infill panels. Plain-tile roof. Stone projecting gable-end
stacks with brick upper shafts. 2 framed-bay range with C20
lean-to at each end and C20 rear extension.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Single twin casement to first floor and a
similar pair to ground floor flanking boarded door with
moulded frame. Square framing 3 panels high. Left returned
side: C20 lean-to to left with central brick end stack
covering rendered gable. C20 attic casement. Right returned
side: gable partly covered by large stone stack in 4 stages
and with upper brick shaft. Gable truss of cambered tie beam,
collar, brace and vertical struts. C20 attic casement. Rear
has square framing 3 panels high set on concrete plinth. 2 C20
casements and C20 rear extension to left.
INTERIOR: bridging beam with deep hollow chamfer and stepped
stop. Central truss with interrupted tie beam with posts and
brace, and collar. Single trenched purlin roof. Square-framed
truss cross-wall with raised plaster inscription 'EW EWF.I
1682' reputed to be Edward and Elizabeth Withy.
