Bank barn approx. 100m to north-west
of Catholes Farmhouse

Bank barn. Probably early to mid C18. Large mixed random
rubble with quoins and some through-stones, stone slate roof.
Rectangular 5-bay plan on east-west axis, with shippon under
west end, plus an outshut to the east end of the north side.
The south side has a wagon doorway to the 4th bay, with an old
wooden lintel and long stone-slate drip-course over it; and
one slit breather to the right. The west gable wall has a
shippon doorway with monolith lintel. The north side has a
wagon doorway opposed to that at the front and similar to it,
and an outshut to the left of that with a doorway in its side
(and a corrugated-iron roof). INTERIOR: 4 collar trusses
supporting 2 pairs of original purlins and original rafters.
Forms group with former barn approx. 20m north-west of
Catholes Farmhouse (qv), and with Catholes Farmhouse (qv).
