Mill owner's house now offices. Early C19 with late C19 and
C20 alterations. Coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings.
Hipped stone slate roof with 2 ashlar ridge stacks.
PLAN: double-pile.
EXTERIOR: 2 storey. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. Street front
has 4-window range. Off-centre round headed doorway has glazed
and panelled door plus fanlight with decorative glazing bars
in moulded architrave with keystone. To left single and to
right 2 plain horned sashes with wedge lintels. Above 4
similar sash windows.
Right return has single C20 window
Rear elevation has 4 window range. Off-centre doorway in flush
ashlar surround flanked by single plain horned sashes, to left
single similar sash and beyond doorway in flush ashlar
surround with panel door. Above tall round headed staircase
window with margin light glazing flanked by single plain
horned sashes, to left single opening with paired plain horned
sashes.
INTERIOR: has stucco cornices, ceiling roses and round headed
niches plus mouldings with paterae to doorways which are in
deep set panelled architraves. Fireplaces survive, all except
kitchen fireplace are boarded over. Main staircase rises from
hall, in 2 flights to first floor.
