Public house. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Diminishing
coursed millstone grit with ashlar dressings and hipped slate
roof. 3 irregularly set stone stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. Market Street front has moulded cornice
and quoins. Symmetrical 3 window range. Central doorway with
C20 door and overlight in painted pilaster surround with flat
hood flanked by single C20 glazing bar windows. Above three
16-pane sashes and above again 3 smaller 16-pane sashes.
Canted doorway at right corner now blocked, with moulded
pilaster surround and corbelled lintel.
Right return to Chapel Street has regular 2 window range with
C20 windows and above two 16-pane sashes, above again 2
smaller 16-pane sashes.
Left return rendered. Rear considerably altered in C20.
