Pair of semi-detached villas and attached railings. c1832. Stucco over brick with hipped slate roof, central stucco stack and cast- and wrought-iron railings, porches and window guards. PLAN: main range with recessed entrance bays to sides with full-height, single-outer-bay service ranges to rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics, 6 first-floor windows arranged 1:4:1. Stucco detailing includes pilasters through ground and first floors to ends and centre which interrupt first-floor band, crowning cornice, frieze and cornice (raised over pilasters); windows have tooled architraves. Mainly 6/6 sashes, where original, taller to ground floor, 3/3 sashes to basement. End entrances: flight of 5 roll-edged steps to 5-panel doors (the upper panels raised and fielded, lower panel with lozenge and fluted surround) with fanlights, that to right with radial glazing bars. Attic roof dormers have 1/1 sashes. Wide eaves to main range. Rear retains 6/6, 8/8 and 6/6 with margin-light sashes; rear to No.22 has French windows with margin-lights and decorative glazing bars. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: window guards to ground floor have scrolled lozenge motif, also to sides of steps to No.22; No.20 has oval and quatrefoil frieze to porch. Railings to sides of steps have scrolled lozenge motif. HISTORICAL NOTE: Park Place was developed by 1832. Forms a group with Nos 24-40 (qqv).
