GV II*

House. Early C18. Brown brick in Flemish bond with stone
plinth, doorcase and eaves cornice; double span roof of slate
with brick end stacks to both ranges.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey, 4-bay front. Four steps to left of centre
lead up to 8-panel front door in eared doorcase with panelled
reveals and shell hood. Windows are 6/6 sashes with exposed
weight boxes, painted stone sills and channelled wedge lintels
with keyblocks. Moulded eaves cornice surmounted by low solid
parapet.
INTERIOR: entrance hall with mahogany 6-panel doors and
cornice based on festoons. Dog-legged staircase with curtail
step, cut and bracketed string, wreathed handrail and dado
panelling to all floors. Dining room with dado panelling. Dado
moulds in bedrooms, with pilasters flanking mantels in
bedrooms in front range. Wooden ceiling cornice over fireplace
openings and above 6-panel doors of flanking cupboards.
6-panel doors with lugged architraves on rising HL-hinges.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wrought-iron railings.
