House, formerly farmhouse. Circa early C18, remodelled early C19. Flemish garden wall bond plum-coloured brick. Clay plain tile roof with gabled ends. Brick gable-end stacks.
PLAN: Two-room plan with central entrance and staircase hall, parlour on left and hall/kitchen on right with service wing (now separate dwelling, The Cottage, not of special interest) behind the right-hand room. Late C20 single-storey wing added behind left room.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and cellar. Symmetrical three-window north front. C19 tripartite sashes on ground and first floors with cambered stuccoed heads; 3- and 2-light second floor casements; central doorway with C20 brick gabled porch with early C20 inner door. At rear (5), single-storey late C20 wing on right; and 2-storey former service wing on right (now separate dwelling, The Cottage).

INTERIOR: joinery includes early C19 panelled doors on ground floor, early C18 6-panel doors on first floor; plank attic doors, panelled window shutters, and C20 panelling in hall. Chimneypieces missing or replaced, except for fine early C18 chimneypiece and overmantel in left first floor chamber with panelled pilasters and large fluted pilasters to overmantel. Good early C18 dog-leg staircase up to attic with moulded string, heavy moulded handrail, turned balusters and square newels. Chamfered ceiling beams. The north bay of the roof has tie-beam and king-post truss with struts and re-used principals; the remainder of the roof is formed by large purlins supported on the brick cross-walls. The cellar has rendered stone walls and brick vaults.
