Boathouse, 1936 by Thompson and Walford, for the University of London. Reinforced concrete frame, flat concrete roofs, shuttering clearly visible on the south elevation. Single storey, with first and second floors over. Crittall metal frame windows except to bar and lounge and upper floor flat, replaced in plastic or timber. Lower level, ten boathouse entrances with rolling shutter doors. Eight-oar rowing tank. Above, single storey lounge and bar with tubular steel rail to roof; to rear and side, gym, changing rooms and offices, the latter with simple tubular steel rail to roof. Paved terrace over boathouses, with tubular steel rail. Upper floor appartment. External stair to first floor of south elevation and from north end of terrace to ground floor.
