War Memorial at St Paul's Church

Monument , re-dedicated as First World War memorial. Erected 1900. Granite cross with octagonal section shaft and short arms, the base of the shaft with broach stops. Set on 3-tier octagonal base, the two upper tiers with simple cornices and with the names of the dead of the Boer and First and Second World Wars inscribed on the risers of the steps. Erected in 1900 in memory of Major L. H. D. Fortesque of Castle Hill, who was killed in action in the Boer War and re-dedicated after the First World War.
