RAF Headley Court

Pillar sundial forming the centrepiece of a cruciform broadwalk to the east of the swimming pool at RAF Headley Court (qv). Late C19/early C20. Stone. Octagonal base of 4 steps topped by a swagged drum supporting a cushioned column with fruit and flower drops which is crowned by an octagonal stone with a gnomon and dial on each face and inscription running around the base. History: originally this was topped by a group of lead Atlases bearing a world on their bent shoulders. This is believed to be the globe currently on one of the southern boundary pillars.
