House, now offices and shop. c1770 with later additions and alterations including shop front with probably mid-C19 origins and extension to rear c1950-80. Reddish-brown brick in Flemish bond with flat arches of red gauged brick, stone sills, stuccoed doorcase and plain tile roof, hipped to right, three tall brick ridge and left stacks with oversailing courses and pots; cast-iron grill. Three storeys with half-basement and attic, four first floor windows. Ground and first floors have six/six flush sashes, blocked to ground floor at right; second floor has three/three flush sashes; all with flat arches. Attic dormer has fixed light window. Basement at right has blocked elliptically-arched opening with grill. Three renewed steps to off-centre right entrance: six-panel door, the lower two are flush beaded, the upper four with raised cross motif; deep overlight has decorative glazing bars with central oval panel and plain reveals; within doorcase with pilasters with sunk panels and corbel brackets with acanthus moulding, cornice. Modillion eaves cornice.

Right return: three storeys, three first floor windows. First floor has six/six flush sashes; second floor has three/three flush sashes, all with flat arches and sills. Ground floor has shop front with dentil cornice partly concealed by blind boxes; plain end pilasters; two steps to central entrance a plate-glass door; frieze has disc motif; overlight; reveals have three flush reeded panels; three-light shop window with slender glazing bars to left of entrance and two-light window at right, both with blind overlight. Rear: three storeys, three first floor windows. The original facade is set back to right, otherwise obscured by later build. Three storeys and attic to gable. First floor retains six/six flush sash; second floor has three/three flush sash; both with elliptical arches over. Gable has three/six round-arched flush sash with radial glazing bars to head.

INTERIOR: dogleg staircase with stick balusters, carved tread ends and newel post, otherwise not inspected.

HISTORICAL NOTE: there is apparently a building on this site shown on Young's Map of 1779. Occupies an important corner site at the junction of Deansway, College Street and College Yard. Forms part of the setting for Worcester Cathedral (qv).
