House. c1730s with later additions and alterations including
refacing c1800-20. Stucco over brick with plain tile roof and
right end brick stack with oversailing course and pots. 3
storeys plus attic, one first-floor window. Chamfered plinth;
quoins to full height; moulded cornice. Ground and first
floors have 8/8 sashes; second floor has 4/8 sash; all in
plain reveals and with tooled architraves and sills. Entrance
at left: 6 raised-and-fielded-panel door with fanlight with
radial glazing bars within pilastered doorcase with open
dentil pediment. Gable ended roof dormer has casement windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Nos 2-16 (consecutive) Edgar Street (qqv) form a significant
group, together with Nos 28-34 (even) Sidbury; No.12 College
Precincts; Tower House, No.1 Severn Street; and Edgar Tower,
College Green (qqv). Edgar Street (in which all the buildings
are listed) is a fine example of a Georgian street; it forms
part of the setting for the Cathedral (qv).
