Formerly known as: No.14 SIDBURY.
3 houses, now hotel. Probably c1500-99 with later additions
and alterations including refronting c1800 and range to rear
c1970. Timber frame with stucco arcades and plain tile roof.
L-plan. 2 storeys with attic, 9 first-floor windows. All
windows are 6/6 sashes in near-flush frames except two to each
floor at right are 8/8 sashes in plain reveals and with sills.
To centre, ground floor a shop front with pilasters ans
frieze, now bricked in and incorporating entrance a glazed
door with blind overlight. Embattled low parapet conceals roof
dormer. Exposed square panels of timber framing and wall plate
to right return.
INTERIOR: wall to right retains small square panels of timber
framing including main post. A wealth of chamfered beams and
rafters, many of which are probably imports.
HISTORICAL NOTE: room to rear at right said to have held
Worcester assizes. Reputed to have been the headquarters of
Charles II during the Battle of Worcester.
