20/12/72 South entrance gates and piers to
Ascot Place

Gates and piers to former entrance to Ascot Place, Pigeonhouse
Lane (qv). This entrance is now disused. Early C19.
Multi-coloured stock brick, may be partly rebuilt. Recessed
entrance with curved flanking walls, having end piers
surmounted by stone cornices and ball finials. Central, tall
gate piers with stone urn finials, one on right is missing.
Wrought iron double centre and single side gates with
delicate, crested overthrow.
