Boundary marker post. C19. Low stone post, triangular in section with a sloping upper face bearing the inscription 'BOUNDARY'. The left-hand face is inscribed 'GOOSNARGH PRESTON RURAL DISTRICT',and the right hand face, 'BILSBORROW GARSTANG RURAL DISTRICT'. Such marker posts are significant survivals which indicate both civil and ecclesiastical boundaries, and together with mileposts enhance our understanding of the development of road transport and communication networks.
