House, now shop with accommodation over. 1762 by Thomas Jelly, for the Duke of Kingston's Estate.
MATERIALS: Bath limestone ashlar with pantile roof.
PLAN: Double depth central entrance plan in origin and appearance, but is now divided.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys attic and basement, five windows wide. All windows are late C18 type, six/six sashes without architraves. Ground floor has central panelled door with rectangular light over. Top of basement sashes above street level. Platband at first floor level. First floor windows have had their sills raised to restore original size of openings. Modillion cornice, parapet, broken in front of the dormers, mansard roof, three flat-topped dormers, ashlar stack with off-sets, no pots. Remnant of next house survives to left, rest demolished in late C19. Rear elevation also ashlar, three bays, eight/eight sashes, centre stair windows in slight projection twelve/eight sashes, two flat topped dormers.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: This was one of the houses built by Jelly in partnership with a mason, Henry Fisher, under an agreement of 1762.
