Semi-detached villas. c1830-1840.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof.
PLAN: Compact symmetrical block, with low-pitched hipped roof, and with short wings with high gabled roofs.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, each two windows, all plain sash with square sills on square brackets, and those to ground floor taken down to near floor level. Across full width, and returned in four-bays to flank of No.59, tent hood on light wrought iron trellis, with slight terrace carried round as plinth. Eaves band, deep eaves on rafter brackets, central ashlar stack. To left single storey square porch, with door on short flight of steps, and small arched lights on returns, under twelve-pane sash and blind light. To rear high wing with low-pitched gabled roof on brackets, with large ashlar stack, with door to side, and sashes to rear. To right, No.59 has door and sash under returned hood, and beyond canted bay with sash. Smaller gabled wing similar to adjoining, has stack, and rear eaves stack. Wing has plain sash on flank and rear, including sliding Venetian blinds.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
HISTORY: One of series of similar but slightly varied villas in this part of road, not shown on Prior Park estate map of 1828, but mentioned in the Bath Guide of 1853.
