House and shop. Late C18 with C19 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, painted on ground floor, with double Roman tile roof.
PLAN: Wide single depth plan, backing onto end of another terrace.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attic, three windows to street, single (blind) on canted corner, one on return to Hot Bath Street. All windows are plain sashes, ones on canted corner are blind. Ground floor has panelled door with small transom light in centre bay. Shop entrance to canted corner with shop window on both flanking sides. Shopfront mid C19 and largely unaltered. Platband at first floor sill level. Lintel, cornice and parapet above second floor windows. Mansard roof with M facing street, two dormers with plain sashes, another on return to Hot Bath Street. Ashlar stack with some pots to both ridges. End of facade toothed for continuation of terrace, but this would have required demolition of Abbey Church House and did not come to pass: the side wall, intended only as an internal party wall, was rubble-built and left unfinished.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
Building has characteristics in common with other end of terrace improvements by the City Architect, John Palmer.
