House, now shop. c1761-1765 with C19 and C20 alterations. Possibly by Thomas Jelly.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, now painted, to front, ashlar and rubble to rear, double pile parapeted roof, mansard to front, raised to rear, Welsh slate to front and rear, with coped party wall with two ashlar stacks with some early clay pots to right.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic, basement and three-window front. First floor has three six/nine sashes in ovolo moulded architraves with friezes and cornices, with pediment to centre, with lowered stone sills. Second floor has three six/six sashes in eared ovolo moulded architraves with stone sills. Ground floor has to right C20 shopfront with some elements retained from late C19 shopfront with projecting plate glass windows to left and right and glazed door recessed to centre right, marble stall-riser, reeded half-pilasters to left and right, deep frieze with blind box and moulded cornice. To left, six-panel door with moulded panels and cast iron lion's mask knocker with simple fanlight in beaded splayed reveal, cast iron footscraper attached to left. No opening to basement. Two single dormers with six/six sashes in moulded architraves. Modillion eaves cornice and coped parapet. Rear elevation partially visible has eight/eight sash to second floor, two six/six sashes to right with wrought iron balconette to right to third floor.
INTERIOR: Not inspected. Extension to rear containing separate shop in ashlar, two storeys, with pantile roof with coped verges and ashlar stack to right. Rear elevation to car park has small four-pane casement to first floor; interior has late C19 early C20 marble fireplace with tiled panels to grate, C19 ceiling rose and eight/eight sash facing onto garden.
