Terrace house, now flats. c1770-1776 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar to front, painted to ground floor and basement, rubble with ashlar extension to rear, double pile parapeted mansard roof, Welsh slate to front and rear, with two ashlar stacks with some early clay pots rising from coped party wall to right. Staircase to rear.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic and basement, single bay three-window front. First floor has quasi-Venetian window with square headed centre light with four/four, nine/six, four/four sashes in plain reveals with lowered stone sill with large wrought iron balconette on scrolled wrought iron brackets (cf. Nos 1 and 2 Montpelier qv). Second floor has three grouped plate glass horned sashes, narrower to left and right, in plain reveals with continuous stone sill. Ground floor has to left six/six horned sash in plain reveal with stone sill, to right six-panel door with flush and fielded panels with plate glass overlight in semicircular headed opening with ovolo moulded architrave, pennant paved crossover flush with pavement. Basement has two six/six horned sashes in plain reveals with continuous stone sill, C20 plank door in infilling under crossover, plank door and unglazed window opening to vaults, no area steps. Double dormer with two/two sashes. Band course over ground floor, sill band to first floor now dressed back flush, bracketed eaves cornice and coped parapet all continuous with Nos 1, 2 and 4 Montpelier (qv). Rear elevation partially visible has two/two sash in splayed reveal with stone sill with wrought iron balconette to second floor, parapeted ashlar extension off staircase up to second half-landing.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Attached wrought iron railings with shaped heads on limestone bases. Attached vaults carry raised pennant pavement with simple wrought iron railing to front edge with opening with four pennant steps down to roadway, two small openings to roadway.
