GV II

Five terrace houses. Early C19 with C20 additions.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double pitched slate roofs (pantile and concrete tile to rear) with moulded stacks to party walls and right gable end.
PLAN: Double depth plans with rear additions.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, each house has single-window range except No.3. Continuous coped parapet and dentil cornice, late C19 plate glass two-light sash windows with fine balconettes to first floor, plain architraves to six-panel doors with bolection moulding. No.3 to centre and stepped slightly forward, has three-window range with chamfered arises and blind central window over semicircular arch to cobweb fanlight. No.1 to left has C20 windows and door, an entrance in Brunswick Street.
INTERIORS: Inspected by Bath Council circa 1980. No. 2 has a good fireplace with Grecian urn in the middle of frieze. Flower guard and double front sash window. Central staircase removed. No.3 has early Victorian console fireplace and central glazed cupboard in spine wall. Stone staircase with fine inlaid handrail, Georgian fireplace on first floor. No.4 retains many of its original features.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Low wall enclosing front gardens has chamfered rusticated gatepiers with swept pyramidal caps and wrought iron overthrow with quatrefoils flanking former lantern.
