Churchyard monument. Circa 1834 chest tomb. Built of Portland stone in classical style.
EXTERIOR: Rectangular chest tomb on a moulded base with moulded cover slab. Broad reeded tapering corner pilasters with caps and bases. The sides and ends have octagonal fielded panels which contain the inscriptions.
HISTORY: This monument marks the resting place of George King who died on 19th August 1834. Also of Elizabeth, his wife, who died on 28th March, 1861. also Jessy, the wife of Fielder King who died on 30th March, 1845, and of their youngest son, Charles King, who died on 30th September 1878 at Akyab, Burmah.
A good quality Classical style early C19 Portland stone chest tomb in a churchyard with several listed monuments.
