Elizabeth and Jane Grant, 1812-14. Picturesque 2-storey, irregular 3-bay house with single storey wing over raised basement at S. White harled. W facing front with near centre door in catslide outshot of right projecting gable. 3-light window in ground and 2-light fenestration in 1st floors; similar fenestration and further catslide roof extension to rear. Lattice pane glazing; end and wallhead stacks; graded local slate roof with deep projecting joisted eaves.
Built by Sir John Peter Grant of Rothiemurchus after a design he requested from his daughters Elizabeth and Jane, aged 15 and 12 in 1812. Early example of Picturesque style with strong local historical associations.
